Florida Caverns State Park
This is one of a few state parks with dry (air-filled) caves and is the only state park in Florida to offer cave tours to the public. The cave has dazzling formations of limestone stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, flowstones, and draperies. This State Park is popular for camping, picnicking, canoeing, and horseback riding and also features a nine-hole, New Deal-era golf course set in beautiful rolling terrain. The Upper Chipola Recreational Trail system, established cooperatively with the Northwest Florida Water Management District, offers canoe rentals to explore this Outstanding Florida Waterway. A wide variety of flora and fauna can be observed on the river, including Herons, Egrets, Alligators, and Beavers.
